Paolo told the doctors that it was hell: “I danced in front of my wife and with our friends. We laughed, joked, everyone was happy. Suddenly I found myself in another dimension. In the dark, in emptiness. A moment, and I heard bodies falling on me, as well as all sorts of debris and dust.”

In the first minutes the groom did not understand what was happening.

“I got into a terrible whirlpool and couldn’t find my way. Then I found myself in front of my best friend. I called him, but he didn’t answer, he had a big cut on his head, there was a lot of blood. Only then did I began to understand. I started screaming, calling for Valeria, my wife. She did not react and seemed to disappear. I was afraid that she was buried under the rubble.”
