The creators of STALKER 2 showed a new image from the game. It was published in the official community of the project on VKontakte.
The official public has a detailed GIF-animation depicting the location “Swamps” from the game “STALKER: Clear Sky”, released in 2008. The location is presented in two time intervals – present and past. In the first image you can see the canonical and modern appearance of the recognizable object of the location – the old church, in the second – how the place of worship looked like before the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
The animation is accompanied by the caption: “We've been sitting in this damn quagmire too long! It already seems to me that there is nothing else in the world except the Swamps. And someone told me that before there were no swamps here – so, a plain, on it fields, villages, farms … “. This line is found in one of the characters in the game “STALKER: Clear Sky”.
The post published in the community has collected about 37 thousand views and more than three thousand likes. Commentators suggested that the displayed image of the location hints at an anomaly that will transport the player through time. Some users reproached the creators of the game for the long wait for STALKER 2. “We will watch the screenshots for another 10 years, and then in another 5 years we will see the gameplay,” said commentator Oleg Vazhenin.
In early September, the developers of a new game based on the STALKER universe posted an animation on the network showing the location of the ATU. Since the location was presented in two time intervals, gamers assumed that the game would be able to move between the past and the present. The first STALKER 2 trailer was unveiled on July 23rd.
