Sony is preparing 25 games for its new console. This is reported by the publication Wired.
The expansion of the number of game exclusives for the next-generation console was announced by the head of PlayStation Studio and former head of Guerrilla Games Hermen Hulst. According to him, the company intends to release 25 titles. Moreover, half of them will turn out to be completely new series.
While revealing the company's plans, Hulst noted that not all of the planned titles will become major blockbusters, as work is underway on indie projects. “The incredible diversity comes from a wide variety of regions. Big, small, different games, ”summed up the top manager of Sony. The specialist noted that the corporation is interested in attracting more and more developers and literally saved some of the studios during the pandemic by making them interested in creating games for PS.
Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan also spoke to Wired. The top manager expressed hope that the PS5 console could be on sale in the coming months. “We expect production to rise over the summer and certainly in the second half of the year, and we hope to see some kind of return to normal in terms of the balance between supply and demand,” Ryan said.
At the moment, it is known that four exclusive titles will be released for PS5 in the coming months. Horizon Forbidden West, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, and God of War: Ragnarok are due before the end of 2021, with Gran Turismo 7 due in 2022.
At the end of April, the head of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) Jim Ryan announced that the new console will receive more exclusives than any PlayStation console has previously released. “We are gradually and steadily continuing to invest in high quality PS titles,” Ryan said.
