However, the implementation will have to wait, because the “peace plan” contains items that cannot be fulfilled. For example, Russia will not take the main step – it will not withdraw its troops from Ukraine. If she had done this, even then we could have talked about some further steps and involving China in certain processes.
“I would also pay attention, it talks about post-war reconstruction and, in fact, Ukraine is marked. China says that he can participate in this and this is a good proposal.But again, everything depends on the most important point – Russia must stop the war, withdraw all troops from our territory, which is recognized as of 1991. What is the reaction of the Russians
According to the observations of Igor Reiterovich, the reaction of the Russians to the “peace plan” is ambiguous. On the one hand, they say that China is their ally. On the other hand, some provisions of the document are not quoted at all, since they contradict all the goals and objectives that Russia and Vladimir Putin himself set for himself.
“It seems to me that Russia will try to start their favorite game, to interpret this plan as they see fit, not as it is written there. And this is unlikely to lead to any serious strengthening of cooperation between China and Russia in terms of the implementation of these peaceful initiatives,” the political scientist noted.
Reiterovich does not exclude that in the near future China will also try to play a different game – to somehow strengthen support for Russia and send a signal to the United States to heed the “peace plan”. Or play blackmail with the allied countries of Ukraine, they say, China can not only come up with peace initiatives, but also play along with Russia.
