Microsoft will partially return the design of older versions of Windows to its operating system. This is reported by the Windows Latest edition.
In a future OS update, Windows is expected to introduce a new design for built-in and third-party applications with rounded corners. Reporters noticed that a similar design was used in Windows XP and 7, but was deprecated with the release of Windows 8 in 2012.
According to Microsoft representatives, who showed the new look of the OS in the material on GitHub, the changes are in line with the design concept of Fluent Design previously adopted by the company. The visual update of app windows will take effect in the second half of 2021. First of all, in the spring of 2021, members of the Windows Insider program will have access to the new user interface.
Reporters noticed that in fact Microsoft has already implemented a new design. In particular, a new type of windows has already been added to the Edge browser, the alarm and clock application, calculator and others built into Windows 10.
In October, it became known that in 2021 Microsoft planned a global OS update, within which the visual interface of the system will be significantly redesigned. The company's designers will redesign the visual appearance of the Start menu, Action and Notification Center, and the built-in Explorer program.
