Counting of votes in elections in the state of Nevada has been suspended for a day and a half. The regional election commission announced this on its Twitter page.
The record states that the counting will resume on November 5 at 9:00 local time (20:00 Moscow time). By now, the commission has processed all votes cast ahead of schedule in person; ballots received by mail before November 2, as well as votes who came to the polling stations on voting day.
As noted, it is still necessary to count the ballots that arrived by mail on election day, and those that arrive during the week. There were also conditional ballots not included in the voter lists.
In Nevada, approximately 67 percent of ballots are counted. According to preliminary data, Democratic candidate Joe Biden is 0.6 percent ahead of incumbent President Donald Trump in the region.
Earlier, Trump's headquarters appealed to the Nevada Supreme Court to stop processing ballots in Las Vegas-based Clark County, received as a result of voting by mail. He suggests that the counting should continue when appeals have been reviewed and surveillance is strengthened.
There are no final results of the presidential election yet, but incumbent leader Donald Trump has already congratulated his voters on his victory. At the same time, according to the latest data, the Democrat Biden is ahead of the Republican in the number of electoral votes: 238 against 213.
General Election Day was held in the United States on November 3. Citizens elected a president and vice president, 35 senators, the entire House of Representatives, 13 governors and local government representatives.
