The Dutch prosecutor's office has requested life imprisonment for the defendants in the case of the crash of the Malaysian Boeing flying MH17. It is reported by “Interfax”.

Such a measure of punishment is demanded for all four accused – the former Minister of Defense of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Igor Girkin (better known as Strelkov), the former commander of the GRU DPR Sergei Dubinsky, Oleg Pulatov and the former commander of the GRU DPR unit Leonid Kharchenko.

At the same time, court hearings in the case of the MH17 crash have been suspended until March 7, 2022.

Hearings on the crash of the Malaysian Boeing 777 essentially began on June 7. The court is trying to find out whether the plane was shot down by a Buk complex, from where they could have fired a missile, and what the role of the four accused was – the Russians Girkin, Dubinsky, Pulatov, and the Ukrainian Kharchenko.

A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 on flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in the Donetsk region on July 17, 2014. There were 298 people on board, all of whom died.
