Israel has no intention of giving up its goals of eliminating Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the temporary ceasefire in the Gaza Strip does not mean that the war against Hamas militants is over.
He stated this during a joint press conference with Defense Minister Yoav Galant, NBC reports.
Netanyahu stressed that Israel is not going to give up its goals of eliminating Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip.
“Citizens of Israel, I want to make it clear: the war continues. The war continues. We will continue until we achieve all our goals,” he assured.
In addition, he recalled that Israel has historically struggled to bring hostages home. In particular, he mentioned the 1976 raid in Entebbe, during which his brother, who served in the IDF, was killed.
In turn, the head of the Israeli Ministry of Defense said that the country will continue the war and will fight for the release of all hostages.
“I can tell you that I, the IDF, the Israel Defense Forces and all the security services are very determined to continue this war until we achieve all of our goals: to destroy Hamas as a government and as a military organization and to release all the hostages,” Gallant said.
Let us recall that it was previously reported that the Israel Defense Forces discovered and destroyed about 400 underground tunnels that were built and used by Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip .
In addition, we previously reported that Israel is moving into a more difficult phase of the war in Gaza .
