The protesters protested against high gas tariffs.
A protest rally was held in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, to which several hundred people gathered, dissatisfied with the increase in gas tariffs. In front of the Moldovan parliament building, the protesters poured a pile of dung out of bags and stuck signs into it calling on the authorities to “drown on their own.”
A photo from this action was published on Saturday, February 5, on the Facebook page “Chisinau in the topic”.
According to the organizers of the protest, representing opposition political forces, about 600 people gathered near the Moldovan parliament. The authorities were accused of the failure of negotiations with the Russian Gazprom, which led to a sharp rise in the price of gas in the country.
Earlier in Moldova, gas tariffs for domestic consumers were increased from 569 to 785 dollars per thousand cubic meters. At the same time, the cost of heating has increased – the gigacalory has risen by $ 22. The opposition intends to challenge this decision of the authorities in court.
Recall that at the end of January, the Moldovan parliament imposed a state of emergency after threats from Russian Gazprom to stop gas supplies.
