The Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen has to cope with a severe blow of fate. The 55-year-old loses his first-born son.
In the 1990s he was the congenial partner of over-basketball player Michael Jordan. Scottie Pippen won the NBA championship six times with Air Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. Now the 55-year-old has suffered a severe blow of fate. His firstborn son Antron died at the age of 33. “I'm heartbroken that I had to say goodbye to my firstborn son yesterday. We both shared a love of basketball and we had countless conversations about the game,” Pippen wrote on Instagram.
His son Antron suffered from chronic asthma. Pippen believes that his son would have played in the NBA had it not been for asthma. Pippen left open what Antron died of. “I love you son, rest in peace until we meet again,” concluded the ex-basketball star. Antron was born in 1987. Scottie Pippen married Antron's mother Karen McCollum in 1988, and they separated again in 1990.
Antron is not the only child of Pippen to die prematurely. His daughter Tyler Roby died nine days after giving birth in 1994. Pippen has six other children.
