Kommersant: Navy captains were arrested for embezzlement for 700 million rubles during rearmament of ships

In Moscow, the 235th garrison military court arrested new defendants in the criminal case on the embezzlement of 700 million rubles when modernizing the weapons of the Northern Fleet's warships. This was reported by Kommersant.
According to the publication, at the request of the investigation, a preventive measure was chosen for the former consultant of the Department of the Navy, Captain Andrei Klokotsky, and the head of the service for the development and operation of missile and artillery weapons of the Department of Shipbuilding of the Navy, Captain Vadim Movchan.
Also involved in the case are two heads of the Moscow factories “Electropribor” Mutalib Emiraliev and “Soyuz-M” Zamir Akhmedov, who had been taken into custody earlier.
Klokotsky himself confessed to the investigator, but then counterintelligence caught him in collusion with other defendants in order to evade criminal responsibility and the captain was tightened the measure of restraint.
According to the investigation, the accused conspired and committed theft by fraud of funds allocated by the Ministry of Defense under the state armament program for 2013-2016. It was supposed to supply modern navigation equipment and modernize anti-aircraft missile systems to the warships of the Northern Fleet, however, the work was never completed, and 700 million rubles were stolen.
