Journalists assume that he was poisoned.
Journalists have gained access to hundreds of documents related to the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. These materials contain information indicating the possible poisoning of the opposition leader.
The Insider wrote about this.
According to the publication, two versions of the resolution to refuse to initiate a criminal case were found in the documents. In the second and final version, it was discovered that important details had disappeared: the words that Alexei Navalny had abdominal pain, vomiting, and convulsions before his death.
The same information is contained in another document – a description of “seized objects”, which mentions “vomit samples”. Judging by the text of this document, they were sent for examination, although there were no previous reports of either the examination itself or that Navalny had vomited.
Resuscitation doctor Alexander Polupan, who treated Navalny after he was poisoned with Novichok in August 2020 in Omsk, commented on these documents. He noted that the symptoms in question could indicate poisoning with an organophosphorus substance, which includes Novichok.
Journalists emphasized that these documents confirm the testimony of Yulia Navalnaya, who previously stated that in the last minutes before his death, her husband did indeed complain of acute abdominal pain.
Recall that Alexei Navalny died on February 16, 2024, in a penal colony in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug of Russia. The official cause of death was indicated as an irregular heartbeat, but many of his fans believe that this could have been related to poisoning. Navalny experienced symptoms such as abdominal pain and convulsions, which raises suspicions about the circumstances of his death. The authorities did not release the body for examination for a long time, which only increased suspicions about possible murder.
