Oppositionist Alexei Navalny, who is serving time for fraud and legalization of criminal funds (part 2 and part 3 of article 159.4 and part 2 of article 174.1 of the Criminal Code), filed a lawsuit against the Prosecutor General's Office and Roskomnadzor. The case card was published in the card file of the Tverskoy court of Moscow.
The lawsuit went to court on September 13. The essence of the matter is not disclosed in the card. Only the category is indicated: “Other cases on challenging decisions, actions (inaction) of state authorities, military command and control bodies.”
Former director of FBK (liquidated foreign agent, the organization is recognized as extremist, its activities are prohibited) Ivan Zhdanov explained on Twitter that Navalny's associates want to challenge the blocking of their resources in the European Court of Human Rights. “I comment: a technical claim to reach the ECHR by blocking the site,” Mr. Zhdanov wrote.
On September 2, Roskomnadzor demanded that AppStore and Google Play stop distributing an application that is associated with the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK; liquidated foreign agent, the organization is recognized as extremist, its activities are prohibited). The appeal to the sites is directed on the basis of the request of the Prosecutor General's Office.
In January of this year, Alexei Navalny was replaced by a suspended sentence in the Yves Rocher case with a real one – the court found that he had violated the terms of the probationary period. The politician was assigned two years and eight months in prison. Since February, he has been registered as prone to escape, the court refused to cancel this decision.
