On the eastern flank of the North Atlantic Alliance, thousands of additional military personnel, more than 100 aircraft and more than 120 ships are deployed.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that during the invasion, Russia will continue to supply weapons to Ukraine and help our state financially. In addition, the Alliance has reinforced its Eastern flank and put the Rapid Reaction Force on high alert.
This was stated by the NATO Secretary General on Friday, February 25, at a press conference following the emergency summit of the Alliance in an online format.
NATO will continue to supply weapons to Ukraine, including air defense systems. The Alliance will also provide Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, and Bosnia and Herzegovina with more financial assistance to advance democratic reforms.
“NATO is ready to continue providing financial, military and humanitarian support to Ukraine,” Stoltenberg stressed.
According to him, most of NATO's rapid reaction forces are on alert. They consist mainly of the US military, as well as large contingents of France and Germany.
Stoltenberg believes that the war in Ukraine will not spread to NATO, but the Alliance is building up its military presence in the east. In particular, NATO has additionally deployed thousands of troops, more than 100 aircraft and more than 120 ships on the eastern flank.
Recall that NATO will not establish a no-fly zone over Ukraine, so as not to provoke a clash between the North Atlantic Alliance and Russia.
