NATO will help Ukraine develop its military and carry out reforms that will help Kiev move more effectively in the Euro-Atlantic direction. A representative of the alliance told RIA Novosti about this.
“Ukraine is a valuable and long-term NATO partner (…) we expect Ukraine to continue to focus on internal reforms, consolidate its democratic institutions, strengthen the rule of law and develop its defense capabilities in line with NATO standards,” the agency quoted the source as saying. …
The source called the provision of a roadmap for moving towards NATO to Ukraine as a future “signal for the Russian Federation.” He also recalled that NATO supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and does not recognize the annexation of Crimea to Russia.
On April 2, the press secretary of the Ukrainian delegation to the contact group on resolving the situation in Donbass, Oleksiy Arestovich, told reporters that in joint exercises with NATO, the Ukrainian army would work out the situation of the war with Russia in Crimea.
