NATO is preparing for large-scale military exercises “Cold Response 2022” near the Russian coast. The Avia.Pro portal writes about this.

According to the publication, the United Kingdom, the United States and a number of other countries of the North Atlantic Alliance will conduct exercises on the territory of Norway – 400 kilometers from the borders of Russia. They will involve two aircraft carrier strike groups at once, led by the American ship USS Harry S. Truman and the British HMS Prince of Wales.

In addition, 35,000 military personnel and a “large number” of military aircraft will be involved in the exercises. It is noted that this will be the largest NATO military exercise held beyond the Arctic Circle since the 80s of the last century.

“Exercise Cold Response 2022, aimed at rehearsing the defense of northern Norway, will be the largest NATO exercise above the Arctic Circle since the 1980s. About 35 thousand soldiers from 28 countries will take part in them. A significant part of the exercises, which will begin in March, will take place at sea and in the air,” the portal reports.

Earlier, the State Border Service of Ukraine published the details of joint exercises with NATO Sea Breeze-2022. Ukrainian border guards will take part in the maritime, land and aviation components of the exercises. They will train to interact with representatives of other components of the security forces of Ukraine and NATO countries.
