NATO summit in Washington: Duda was struck by good news on Ukraine

According to Duda, NATO is confident that Ukraine cannot be fully accepted into the Alliance until the war is over.

Polish President Andrzej Duda believes that it is necessary to officially invite Ukraine to NATO, so accelerating Ukraine’s accession will be discussed at the Alliance summit in Washington.

This was stated by President Andrzej Duda on Tuesday in Riga at a meeting of the leaders of the Bucharest Nine, reports Pap.

“It is obvious to us that Ukraine cannot be fully accepted into the Alliance until the war ends, but this process, in our opinion, should continue, because this is also NATO’s demonstration to Russia that the desire of the Ukrainian people to join the North Atlantic Alliance is listened to, understood and fulfilled,” he emphasized.

According to the Polish president, many NATO member countries are returning to the NATO-Russia Founding Act, which “actually has not been in effect for a long time”

“We believe that Russia has repeatedly violated this act. This act must be considered dead, it must be considered actually violated by Russia,” the president said.

Recall that we previously published a survey of experts on what Ukraine should expect from the Washington summit on July 9-10.
