Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles, attending a meeting at the level of NATO heads of departments in Brussels, noted that at present the alliance has ceased to indicate any exact date for Russia's “invasion” of Ukraine. A recording of her communication with journalists was published on the YouTube channel of the EFE agency.

“We did not see that there was a de-escalation from Russia. True, the invasion that was talked about did not happen today, but the threat of invasion remains, ”she said.

The head of the Ministry of Defense also added that despite the fact that the attack expected on February 16 did not happen, and her colleague from the United States, Lloyd Austin, stopped talking about the invasion on a particular day, the idea was fixed in the minds of everyone that the Russian invasion must take place, even despite the fact that the alliance does not know exactly when this will happen.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that this is not the first time that Washington has played a card with an “appeal” to the Russian people, while US President Joe Biden needs to fire his analysts who predicted an aggravation of the situation around Ukraine.
