Turkish President hopes for speedy agreement on ceasefire in Ukraine.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the North Atlantic Alliance should “consider” changes to the nuclear doctrine RF.

Milliyet writes about this.

According to Erdogan, a nuclear war will not have positive consequences for anyone. He added that he hopes for a speedy agreement on a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia and the establishment of peace, which the whole world is waiting for.

However, the Turkish leader noted that Russia updated its nuclear doctrine in response to the attitude towards it in the West.

“This step by Russia should be considered by NATO officials, this step should be assessed. First of all, Russia has the ability to defend itself, it has measures for defense, it must take them. Likewise, we, as a NATO country, must defend ourselves and take measures for our defense,” the Turkish president noted.

Recall that Putin approved the updated nuclear doctrine. In particular, a nuclear response from the Russian Federation is possible in the event of a critical threat to its sovereignty, even with conventional weapons.
