NATO made a statement on the participation of DPRK troops in the war against Ukraine

NATO said that it knows about Russia's cooperation not only with North Korea.

Against the backdrop of North Korean troops being sent to Russia to participate in an aggressive war, NATO allies must supply Ukraine with everything it needs to achieve victory in the fight against the invasion, since the presence of North Korean troops on Russia's side is a significant fact escalation.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said this in Berlin during a joint press conference with German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz on November 4.

“North Korean troops have been deployed in Russia against Ukraine, and this is a significant escalation. This makes us even more focused and committed to providing Ukraine with everything it needs to fight both Russia and the North Korean military,” Rutte noted.

He recalled that Germany has already sent 28 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine, becoming the second country in terms of such aid after the United States.

“We must continue to work to ensure that our defense production is accelerated, and “to ensure that Ukraine can win and that Putin does not succeed in Ukraine,” Rutte stressed.

He also recalled NATO's close cooperation with Indo-Pacific partners to respond to the tensions that such actions cause. In particular, the Alliance is strengthening security ties with the Republic of Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

“In this new development, we must do everything we can to ensure that not only Euro-Atlantic security but also Indo-Pacific security is protected,” Rutte said.

China also provides Russia with dual-use goods and helps it circumvent sanctions, Rutte added.

“Of course, Iran is also helping Russia in its military efforts. This is a motive for us to do more to respond to this very serious development and escalation,” he added.

Recall that it became known that in the first days of the Great War, Russia offered Ukraine a peace agreement that in many ways resembled demands for “capitulation.”
