Former US Treasury Secretary for Economic Policy Paul Craig Roberts wrote an article in which he stated his attitude towards NATO and the Kremlin. The relevant material appeared on his personal website.
He called the head of the alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, “Washington's cheap rotten puppet” who “spat her response in the Kremlin's eyes” to Russia's demands for security guarantees and “sent him to hell.”
The author of the material also asked if the Kremlin would continue to pretend that they did not notice such a statement. Roberts expressed the view that the Kremlin was stumped by the “pro-American intellectual class” and the “CIA-paid” protest-minded citizens.
Earlier, Stoltenberg responded to the proposals of the Russian Foreign Ministry on security guarantees. According to him, the agreement between Russia and NATO should take into account the interests of Ukraine. “We make it clear that any dialogue with Russia will also need to address NATO concerns about Russia's actions,” Stoltenberg said. According to him, in concluding such an agreement, the parties should consult with the European partners of NATO, including Ukraine.
