NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Joane commented on the alliance’s position on military assistance to Ukraine. In an interview with the France24 TV channel, he stressed that the organization supports the country in various ways.

The Deputy Secretary General stated that there is no split in NATO on the issue of assistance to Ukraine, since the alliance “does not provide direct military support to Ukraine.” He noted that the decision of some NATO members to send weapons to Ukraine should not divide the partners.

“NATO will not interfere in the war in Ukraine — we support it in many other ways. Individual allies are also engaged in this,” Joane stressed.

Joane also said that NATO will send a team of cybersecurity specialists to Ukraine. In this way, the alliance will help the country to fight the “disinformation” allegedly spread by Russia.

Earlier, Ukraine complained about the blocking of joining cyber-NATO. This was announced by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of the country Alexey Danilov.
