NATO has confirmed holding talks with Russia. The meeting will take place on January 12. TASS reports.
“NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, as chairman of the Russia-NATO Council, convened a meeting of the NRC on January 12, 2022,” the North Atlantic Alliance announced.
Earlier, NATO officials said they are ready to start a meaningful dialogue with Russia on Ukraine. This was announced by the US State Department.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg discussed future contacts with Russia in a telephone conversation. It is specified that the members of the North Atlantic Alliance are unanimous in their opinion on the issue of “containing aggression against Ukraine.”
