NATO allies are not fulfilling the promises they pledged to make for Ukraine: Stoltenberg’s loud statement

In recent months, the Alliance has not delivered to our nation what was promised and needed on the battlefield.

NATO Allies do not fulfill the promises they committed to make in order to strengthen Ukraine's urgent needs for protection in the war unleashed by the Russian Federation.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated this.

According to him, the problem is that in recent months the Alliance has not delivered to our state what was promised and needed on the battlefield.

“The problem is that in recent months we have not delivered to Ukraine what we promised. The United States spent six months agreeing on a new aid package. The European allies, who promised one million ammunition, did not deliver anything close to this amount of ammunition to Ukraine,” Stoltenberg said.

In addition, in April, during a meeting between NATO defense ministers and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, it was noted that our state urgently needs air defense. In particular, the advanced air defense systems Patriot and SAMP/T.

At the same time, “gaps and delays” lead to consequences in our state. Insufficient quantities of ammunition, weapons and air defense affect Ukraine's ability to defend its land.

“Except for Germany, which transferred one additional Patriot system, the allies did not fulfill what they promised in relation to air defense,” the NATO Secretary General emphasized.

Separately, Stoltenberg added that it is now urgent that the allies step up efforts to support Ukraine.

Recall that NATO is discussing the possibility of closing the sky in western Ukraine.
