Moscow. August 28. INTERFAX.RU – In Russia, on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation, the National Center for Physics and Mathematics (NCFM) will be created. The corresponding resolution was adopted by the Russian government.
The main goals of the NCFM are “obtaining new world-class scientific results, training highly qualified scientists, strengthening the country's scientific potential,” the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers said on Saturday.
The regulation on the council for the development of the new structure was approved by the chairman of the Russian government, Mikhail Mishustin. Specialists from Rosatom, scientists from the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow State University, the Kurchatov Institute and other scientific and educational organizations are taking part in the creation of the NCFM.
The center will be based on the educational building of the Moscow State University branch, advanced laboratories and the Sarov technopark, which will house high-tech production, the press service said.
It is noted that the interdepartmental council will coordinate the activities of the NCFM and determine the directions of its development. In particular, he will approve the scientific program and development program, ensure the interaction of authorities and scientific organizations. According to the press service, “the focus of his attention will be on the development of fundamental and applied research in the field of mathematics, physics and computational technologies.”
The composition of the council will be approved by a separate government decree. The corresponding draft act of the Ministry of Education and Science should be presented in the next two months.
