Operations on the International Space Station could be extended for at least another ten years, said Katie Luders, head of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) manned mission program.
“We are working hard to extend the operation of the ISS for at least another ten years. This will play a decisive role in further research, ”she said during a speech at the international Gagarin conference.
NASA plans to publish plans to use the ISS for the next decade, Luders said. As noted by the representative of NASA, the United States is working with many countries to understand how the ISS meets the needs of the space industry.
As the website kp.ru wrote, NASA previously said that it would be able to maintain the operation of the International Space Station until at least 2028 or even longer. Prior to this, Roskosmos announced the completion of the ISS in 2028.
