NASA has postponed the first tests of the helicopter on Mars

The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has decided to postpone the first tests of the Ingenuity helicopter, which was flown to Mars aboard the Perseverance rover, for several days. According to a posting on the NASA website, the test flight will take place no earlier than April 11.

We will remind, as the website kp.ru wrote, earlier in March it was reported that the specialists of the American space department intend to conduct the first tests of the helicopter on the Red Planet in early April.

According to the chief developer of Ingenuity Bob Balaram, most likely, the flight will take place “no earlier than April 8th.” At the same time, he added that the terms are preliminary and, quite possibly, later may be shifted by several days.

The head of NASA's planetary division, Laurie Glaze, told reporters that Ingenuity, which weighs about 1.8 kg, should be “the first helicopter to fly on another planet.”
