NASA commented on the data on booking another seat on the Soyuz

NASA spokeswoman Stephanie Schirholz commented on reports of booking an additional seat on the Russian Soyuz manned transport spacecraft for an astronaut's flight to the ISS, TASS reports.

“NASA is constantly working with stakeholders and partners from Russia, Canada, Europe and Japan to ensure that a crew is in orbit for safe operation, maintenance and maximum scientific utilization of the International Space Station. The composition of the crews is published after its final approval, ”said Schirholz.

Russia plans to withdraw from the ISS project from 2025 and build its own space station. It was not ruled out that the United States could transfer responsibility for the Russian segment of the International Space Station.

Cooperation between the United States and Russia in space is unique and should not stop, said NASA chief Bill Nelson.

Earlier Dmitry Rogozin promised that “engineering miracles” await the space industry of the Russian Federation in the next two or three years.
