The current air leak rate at the International Space Station (ISS) does not pose a threat to the crew, NASA spokesman Daniel Huot said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The interlocutor of the agency added that this led only to a small change in the crew schedule. Russian cosmonauts on Monday, October 5, attempted to localize the place of an air leak in the Russian Zvezda module using a stethoscope. The work had to be suspended due to the noise of the pump, which provides the thermal regime of the station.
An air leak was reported on the ISS on August 20. It was noted that it does not pose a threat to the safety of the crew. NASA has confirmed that the leak is within acceptable limits.
The ISS crew includes Roscosmos cosmonauts Anatoly Ivanishin and Ivan Wagner, as well as NASA astronauts Christopher Cassidy, Douglas Hurley and Robert Behnken.
