NASA announced a possible flight of a Russian cosmonaut on Crew Dragon
The head of NASA's Manned Flights Directorate, Katie Luders, expressed confidence that the Russian cosmonaut could fly on the American Crew Dragon spacecraft for the first time next summer, RIA Novosti reported.
Roscosmos and NASA are currently discussing the possibility of Russians flying on American ships in exchange for the Americans using the Soyuz.
“We were hoping to be able to do something by the spring, but I think it will probably be in late summer, around the time of Crew-3's flight. This is what we are striving for now, ”said Luders.
On Monday, Crew Dragon, with a crew of four astronauts, left for the ISS with a slight delay due to coastal winds. The second regular flight is scheduled for the spring.
