Almost 6 thousand people committed sexual crimes against children in the nine months of 2021, only 147 of them were diagnosed with pedophilia. This is reported by TASS with reference to the deputy head of the Investigative Committee of Russia Elena Leonenko.
“In just nine months of 2021, almost 6,000 people committed sexual crimes against children, of which 147 people were diagnosed with pedophilia,” she said.
The deputy head of the Investigative Committee explained that for antisocial individuals who commit such crimes, often the child was simply a more accessible object of violence, and not preferred. According to Leonenko, criminals with a pathological sexual attraction to children pose a particular danger.
Earlier it became known that in Moscow, an unknown person raped a 12-year-old child in a park near the Slavyansky Bulvar metro station for a year, secretly from his parents. According to the publication, the 47-year-old mother of the victim reported the incident to the police, who noticed that her son had become nervous and closed. After talking with him, the woman found out that a stranger had been bullying him for a whole year. The attacker told the boy that if he told someone close to him about what was happening, then he and his family would have problems.
