The specialist noted that Moscow will take into account the extent and format of the military advance of the North Atlantic Alliance to the East. “It is one thing to supply Javelin anti-tank systems, and another thing is to supply modern drones that can operate in the Donbas at a great distance from their bases,” Kortunov explained.
The RIAC General Director also named several options for a possible Russian military-technical response. Thus, Russia can deploy the latest missile systems in the Kaliningrad region, such as Iskanders. “If Russia agrees with its allies and partners in Latin America to place some systems there, then this is also a military-technical measure that poses a threat to the United States comparable to that which the United States poses to Russia,” Kortunov said. . According to him, Russia can also accelerate developments in the field of hypersonic weapons and cyber warfare.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry published the text of Moscow's written reaction to the US response on security guarantees. Among other things, the document says that Moscow will be forced to respond by applying military-technical measures if Washington refuses to dialogue and conclude legal security guarantees.
