The Ukrainian company Naftogaz has filed a complaint with the EU against the Russian Gazprom. This is stated in a message on the website of the Ukrainian company.

“Gazprom has sharply reduced sales of its own gas in the European spot market, despite growing demand and restricting the ability of other companies to supply additional volumes of gas to Europe and compete,” the statement said.

The company also added that this was the reason for the record rise in prices in Europe. Naftogaz also added that the actions of the Russian monopoly entailed “significant negative consequences for all European consumers” and called on the European Commission to respond to the violations.

The Ukrainian company is confident that the goal of Gazprom is to create an artificial shortage of gas and put pressure on the European Union to launch the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline as soon as possible without complying with the requirements of European legislation.

After Gazprom again failed to book capacities for the transit of natural gas through Poland via the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline, the supply of Russian gas to Germany via Poland stopped. Gazprom itself commented on the stoppage of gas supplies as follows: “We have obligations to our customers for gas supplies. We calculate them in accordance with the applications. And how, in what directions – this is our internal cuisine. We fulfill our obligations to consumers, to those who bought gas from us. With that, everything is according to plan. “

As a result, the price of gas on the exchange set a historic record and rose to $ 2,150 per thousand cubic meters.
