The head of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina assessed the information on the possible control of the regulator over the money transfers of Russians. She told about this in an interview with the TV channel “Russia-1”.
Nabiullina denied the data previously published by RBC. She stated that the Central Bank does not plan to collect information on transfers of individuals.
“We are now working with some banks, which identify the risk of using their platforms for payments to illegal online casinos, financial pyramids, so that banks can effectively build their work here. But we are not talking about the fact that there will be some kind of total control over payments of individuals, small businesses, in any case, “- commented the head of the Central Bank.
Earlier, the Central Bank reacted to information on the control of money transfers from Russians. The regulator said that they do not plan to create new reports for banks to control the transactions of individuals. The Bank of Russia clarified that it is about countering payments made by illegal businesses to illegal online casinos and financial pyramids.
On December 27, RBC reported that the Bank of Russia will begin to control all transfers of funds between individuals. To do this, the regulator will request relevant information from banks, including personal data of citizens.
