Head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov published a video message in which he stated that he is thinking of resigning. He said his “time has come” and “we'll try to leave in time.”
In his appeal, Kadyrov said that he had been heading Chechnya for 15 years, and this was the longest term among all the leaders of Russian regions.
The Chechen leader published the corresponding video on the Web.
“We have a proverb among Caucasians, Chechens. Whatever the guest is, respected, long-awaited, if he travels on time, then it is even more pleasant. Therefore I think that my time has also come. Until they kicked me out. I started thinking about it, we will try to leave in time,” Kadyrov said.
The caption to his video says: ” I myself noticed that I stayed too long. I think that I quite deserved an indefinite and long vacation. I hope that you will support me and understand.” However, in the video message, the head of Chechnya does not say these words.
