Murder of Ukrainian in Germany: Suspect Released from Custody — Reason

In Germany, police released from custody a Ukrainian suspected of killing a compatriot from a refugee hostel who was detained the day before.

This is stated in a statement by the prosecutor's office and the police Rostock.

On August 12, a 46-year-old Ukrainian was murdered in a refugee shelter. On the same day, law enforcement officers identified the 26-year-old suspect. The man from Ukraine was temporarily arrested yesterday evening, but was later released.

“The investigation into the 26-year-old man on suspicion of murder is ongoing, but the Rostock prosecutor's office does not see any urgent suspicions at this time,” the statement said.

That is why the man was released from custody today.

As reported, in A security guard found a seriously injured man at a refugee shelter in Rostock. He turned out to be a 46-year-old Ukrainian citizen. The doctor could only confirm his death.

A murder investigation is currently underway in Germany. The case is being handled by the local criminal police.
