Murashko spoke about the effectiveness of “Sputnik V” against the “delta” strain
The Russian Sputnik V vaccine shows the most effective results in the prevention of the “delta” strain of coronavirus, said Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko.
“The latest results indicate that the efficiency is about 83%, this is already Russian data,” the head of the Ministry of Health told reporters.
According to him, Sputnik V protects more than 95% against severe cases of COVID-19. The vaccine remains effective and continues to work.
Earlier, Murashko said that the third wave of coronavirus infection is more aggressive and spreads faster due to mutations in the strain. Last week, the head of the Ministry of Health said that 38.9 million people have already been vaccinated against the coronavirus in Russia.
