Mourinho
It has been official since Monday: Tottenham put star coach Jose Mourinho in front of the door. For the Portuguese, it still rains millions.
It was the end of an era that was less than two years old and which had been emerging for a long time. “The Special One” was on leave from Spurs after a 2-2 draw against Everton. The 58-year-old Portuguese had been counted since the Europa League match against Dinamo Zagreb at the latest.
But Mourinho can comfort himself with a generous severance payment. As the English “Sun” reports, the North Londoners have to transfer 15 million pounds (almost 17.5 million euros) to the controversial star coach.
Not the first time that the Portuguese has benefited financially from a layoff. In total, the star coach cashed over 90 million euros after layoffs.
After leaving Chelsea in 2007, Mourinho got almost 21 million euros. The departure from Real Madrid was worth 20 million euros in 2013. The second Chelsea sacking brought Mourinho € 14.5m. Manchester United finally had to transfer 18 million euros to the Portuguese in 2018. With Tottenham's 17.5 million euros, Mourinho earned a whopping 91 million euros through layoffs.
