“But one must understand that both the capabilities of the missile and their limited number allow us to speak only about the interception of single targets. That is, it is not designed to repel massive attacks on Moscow and its industrial complex, ”the specialist admitted.
According to him, during the tests, the 53T6 product was launched, which is a “modernized Soviet missile of the A-135 complex.” The reserve colonel recalled that currently only the United States and Russia have a full-fledged missile defense system.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, military expert Alexei Leonkov noted that during the last test the mobile missile defense system A-235 Nudol was used, with the adoption of which “the construction of the [Russian] layered aerospace defense system will end.”
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on the testing of a new missile defense system at the Sary-Shagan training ground in Kazakhstan in November.
