US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said he is convinced that Moscow is trying to overthrow the government of Ukraine.
– No intelligence is needed to say that this is exactly what Russian President Vladimir Putin wants. He made it clear that he would like to recreate the Soviet empire, except that he would like to restore a sphere of influence around neighboring countries that were once part of the Soviet bloc, Blinken explained.
He added that NATO would stand in the way of Putin's ultimate goals.
– Now, regarding the threat outside of Ukraine. Something very strong stands in his way. This is the fifth article of NATO: an attack on one is an attack on all, the US Secretary of State said.
