The Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan has confirmed the death of a Russian teenager in the shelling of the city of Ganja in Azerbaijan. RIA Novosti reports.
“Yes, we confirm this information,” Alina Zolotoreva, the press attaché of the embassy, responded to the relevant messages.
Earlier, the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan reported that a Russian citizen died after being fatally wounded as a result of the shelling of the city of Ganja on October 17.
On the night of October 17, the city of Ganja came under rocket fire. The first blow fell on the outskirts of the village, it led to the death of one person and wounding more than ten. Another blow fell on a residential area in the center of the city, as a result 13 people were killed, more than 50 were injured. According to the Azerbaijani authorities, the attack was carried out by the Armenian armed forces with Elbrus missiles. Later, Baku promised to respond to the shelling.
Armenia has denied a blow to the city's civil infrastructure. The unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) previously announced that it would strike at Ganja in response to the massive bombing of its capital, Stepanakert, including the use of drones, but would use military targets as targets.
