More than 40 people have died after being vaccinated against the coronavirus vaccine in Austria. This is stated in the report of the Federal Office for Health Security (BASG), referred to by TASS.
During the period from December 27 to February 26, 41 deaths were recorded in the country among those vaccinated with Pfizer / BioNTech. The department will check the connection between the death of people and the vaccination: so far, it has been excluded in three patients. 11 people were vaccinated during the incubation period of the COVID-19 disease, during which they died. Another 19 had serious illnesses – perhaps they were the cause of death. No further information has been obtained on the remaining cases.
In addition, life-threatening side effects were found in 18 patients vaccinated with different drugs. Nine of them recovered their health.
The report notes that the department expects new data on the deaths due to the fact that at the beginning of the vaccination campaign, mainly elderly people were vaccinated. “Based on this so-called background morbidity, one can expect one death in 290 people in the age group 80 years and older in a week, regardless of vaccination,” – quoted by TASS.
At the end of February, it was reported that 16 people had died in Switzerland after being vaccinated against the coronavirus. The deaths averaged 86 years old, and most of them had previous serious illnesses.
