More than 16 thousand people with coronavirus received blood plasma with antibodies in Moscow

MOSCOW, July 16. / TASS /. Over 16 thousand patients with coronavirus in Moscow have received blood plasma with antibodies since April 2020. This was announced on Friday by the chief transfusiologist of the capital, Andrei Bulanov.

“About 17 tons [of plasma] have been harvested. This is a huge amount. More than 16 thousand patients received plasma transfusion during this time [since April 2020],” Bulanov said on the air of the Ekho Moskvy radio station.

He clarified that doctors in Moscow since April last year have begun to use the method of transfusing immune plasma to patients with coronavirus infection.
