For the third day – since Saturday evening – there are massive street protests in the Netherlands against the curfew imposed by the country's authorities due to the situation with the coronavirus. Militiamen detained more than one and a half hundred participants in the riots.

The head of the police Willem Wuleners told about this in an interview with the Netherlands Broadcasting Corporation (NTK). According to him, the number of detained demonstrators by this hour increased to 151. Earlier it was reported that 70 were detained.

“Calm has reigned in most of the country's cities. The exceptions are the cities of Rotterdam and 's-Hertogenbosch, ”Wulders said, adding that special forces are sent there to disperse the protesters.

We will remind, as the website kp.ru wrote, in several cities of the Netherlands protests broke out against the strict quarantine measures taken by the government to combat the spread of the coronavirus. On Sunday, in Amsterdam and Eindhoven, protesters began to organize pogroms and arson, as well as throwing firecrackers, stones and bottles at police, who in response had to use batons, water cannons and tear gas.
