Yuri Zhdanov, head of the Russian section of the International Police Association, assessed the flow of migrants to Russia. In his opinion, in 2022 it will become larger due to changes in legislation and the economic situation in the CIS countries, RIA Novosti reports.
Zhdanov predicted an increase in the flow of migrants by a third in Russia in the New Year. He explained that the growth of this indicator will be influenced by changes in the migration legislation, which will come into force on December 29.
“This is also the optimization of migration registration and control of foreign citizens and stateless persons entering the territory of Russia, which include mandatory state fingerprint registration and photographing,” the lieutenant general emphasized.
According to the expert, in current conditions and taking into account the monthly assessment, it is expected that the migration increase in 2022 will increase by one third on average and will amount to 14-15 million people per year.
“Because for citizens of the CIS and migrants from other regions with a poorly developed economic infrastructure, employment in Russia is the optimal solution to ensure a minimum standard of living for their families,” concluded Zhdanov.
Earlier it became known that in Russia from December 29, migrants will begin to issue chips with fingerprints. This is what patents for the work would look like, which would also include an electronic facial image.
