Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki submitted his resignation from the post of Chairman of the Council of Ministers to the Chairman of the Sejm, Marek Sawicki.
This happened on Monday, November 13, during the inaugural meeting of the 10th Seimas.

According to the Polish constitution, the head of government submits his resignation at the first meeting of the Sejm of the new term.

“A minute ago, we all took a solemn oath before the people in defense of sovereignty, and let these words be a guide for us, especially in the future, since we are certainly well aware of the great challenges this time will bring us,” Morawiecki said addressing parliamentarians.
He also invited everyone “to join a broad coalition who cares about the good of the country.”
Recently, Polish President Andrzej Duda announced in a televised address that, after analysis and consultation, he had decided to entrust the mission of forming a government to Prime Minister Morawiecki.
The State Secretary of Duda's office, Malgorzata Paprocka, said that after the ceremonies in parliament, the President of Poland would entrust this mission to Morawiecki.

Let us remind you that in the parliamentary elections in Poland on October 15, the Law and Justice (PiS) party won, gaining 35.38% of the votes. Second place was taken by the Civic Coalition, which, together with the Third Way party and the New Left, has 248 seats in parliament, which is 37 more than PiS.
At the end of October, the leaders of the Polish opposition officially confirmed their readiness to form a parliamentary majority and government and nominated Donald Tusk for the post of Prime Minister of Poland.
