The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Montenegro confirmed the receipt from Russia of a request for the extradition of an Azerbaijani businessman and former owner of the Cherkizovsky market Telman Ismailov. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to representatives of the department.
The original request, according to the Montenegrin Ministry of Justice, was sent by diplomatic means. “A copy of the request of the competent authorities of the Russian Federation for the extradition of Telman Ismailov was delivered with the message that the request with the documentation itself was sent by diplomatic means,” said law enforcement officers of Montenegro.
Earlier, the Investigative Committee of Russia told Lente.ru that the documents for the extradition of Ismailov are already being prepared. On October 1, an entrepreneur, wanted in the Russian Federation for organizing a double murder, was detained in a suburb of the Montenegrin capital of Podgorica.
According to the investigation, Telman, together with brothers Rafik and Vagif Ismailov, developed a plan to assassinate businessman Vladimir Savkin and founder of Lyublino-Motors Yuri Brylev. It was implemented on May 15, 2016, when both businessmen were shot dead on Novorizhskoe highway. In addition, Ismailov is charged with illegal arms trafficking and the abduction of singer Abraham Russo.
