President of Moldova Maia Sandu accepted the resignation of the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister of Moldova Natalia Gavrilitsa announced that she was resigning.

She spoke about this at a briefing on Friday, February 10, reports NewsMaker.

“After a year and a half in office, it's time to announce my resignation,” said Gavrilitsa, adding that the country is entering a new phase, which is based on security.

According to the minister, during his time in government, he managed to cope with the refugee crisis, and she also spoke about the compensation of citizens' expenses for gas and electricity, the start of construction of new power lines, attracting new investments to Moldova, putting roads and bridges into operation and other reforms.

“I have the honor to be the prime minister of Moldova. I believe in Moldova, in the people of this country and that we will succeed. I urge you to be united. Moldova will be a country that we will be proud of,” she said.

Moldova President Maia Sandu accepted her resignation and thanked her for “the enormous sacrifice and efforts to lead the country during such crises”.

“Despite the unprecedented challenges, the country was led responsibly, with great care and selfless work. We have stability, peace and development where others wanted war and bankruptcy. Thank you, Natalia!”, the President wrote.
