Moldova has closed another reception center for Ukrainian refugees – details

Another reception center for refugees from Ukraine has closed in Moldova.

In Moldova On January 4, the temporary crisis response center in the village of Palanka in the east of the country, where refugees from Ukraine were housed, ceased operation.

This was reported by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of Moldova.

So, on the morning of January 6, workers of the Moldovan General Inspectorate from emergency situations removed infrastructure, technical and electrical equipment from the center.

The decision to close the center was made after the state of emergency in Moldova expired at the end of last year.

The temporary crisis response center in Palanca was created on February 24, 2022. During its operation, 9258 refugees from Ukraine passed through it, only 6229 people were accommodated there.

Arrivals were provided with housing, food, medical care and assistance in finding permanent housing.

According to the UN, more than 112 thousand Ukrainian refugees live in Moldova.

Recall that according to the latest data, there are currently more than 4.1 million Ukrainian residents in European countries.
