Moldova did not allow the opening of polling stations in Transnistria during the "elections" Russian Federation.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Moldova declared an employee of the Russian Embassy persona non grate due to the organization of presidential “elections” on the territory of the Transnistrian region.
This was stated by the head of the Moldovan Foreign Ministry, Mihai Popsoi.
According to the diplomat, this decision was reported to Russian Ambassador Oleg Vasnetsov, who was summoned to the department on Tuesday, March 19.
“The Moldovan side protested against the presidential elections held by Russia in the Transnistrian region, contrary to the position of the Moldovan authorities. The diplomat was declared persona non grata,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized.
It is noted that the Russian ambassador was given a note declaring the embassy employee an undesirable person on the territory of the Republic of Moldova and also must leave the country.
It should be noted that Chisinau prohibited the opening of polling stations for Russian “elections” on the territory of Moldova, except for participation in the embassy in the capital. However, the Russian Federation opened six polling stations on the left bank of the Dniester – in the territory of the Transnistrian region.
As reported, on March 17 in Moldova, the Russian Embassy was attacked with Molotov cocktails. It should be noted that a polling station was located on the territory of the diplomatic institution.
